Bishop, W. F. Houston, Jr.
Psalm 1:2-3 (AMP)
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. 3 And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season;
Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].
Beloved, joy in the Lord's law is essential to bearing fruit in our lives. Developing a love for God's Word is more important than simply making it part of your routine. Appreciating and enjoying the Word is more important than merely becoming accustomed to it. After you have completed reading the Bible for the day, you should not stop reflecting on the words that God has given you. Keep what you have learned close to your heart so you won't forget it. Success follows because you'll soon be applying what you've learned in the Bible to your daily life. This verse is a sobering reminder that our efforts to produce fruit will always fall short without God and His Word. In light of this, those who regularly reflect on God's Word are compared to "trees planted beside the streams of water."
If you need to talk, we are here for you.
