Micah 6:8 (MSG)
But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.
Have you ever felt overwhelmed with problems that life throws your way that you wanted to throw your hands up in the air and shout, "God What Are You Expecting from Me?" God clearly answers this question in Micah 6:8 (MSG): Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously. Begin by asking yourself, "What is correct in this situation?" What is reasonable? " Am I rescuing and protecting the defenseless?" These are concerns pertaining to the administration of justice, in other words, problems or situations related to fairness.
The second step is to have compassion. God's character is built upon a foundation of mercy. He anticipates that you will show unconditional love and forgiveness to those around you as He has shown to you. Thirdly, make sure there is some measure of humility in your heart. Keep your abilities, knowledge, and resources from dominating the narrative. In other words, check your pride. Fight the tendency to think highly of yourself and your expertise. Refrain from letting your qualifications, knowledge, worldly connections, or money make you your motivating foundation. Recognize that God is the one who provides for you. He is the one who operates in and through you.
There is nothing you can provide that did not originally come from God. Be modest in your walk with God. Finally, what does God want from you? He has no aspiration for a more powerful prayer, another sacrifice, additional contributions, donations, or regrets. Ask yourself: Am I being merciful while also operating justly? Am I a humble person? Do I require a change of heart at this time? These are the behaviors that God longs for you to exhibit!
If you need to talk, we are here for you.
