"In [Christ] we have also received an inheritance"
⛪ 📖 C H O F Ministry's Synopsis:
As God's cherished family members, we are graced with a future inheritance rich in present-day blessings.
Bishop Houston's Contemplation:
🌟 The concept of inheritance traditionally conjures images of legal entitlements and familial legacies. In our spiritual journey, this inheritance transcends the earthly realm, offering us a divine legacy as co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Our inheritance, as described by Peter, is "imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you" (1 Peter 1:4). This heavenly inheritance, immune to decay or corruption, awaits us in God's eternal kingdom.
Paul, in Ephesians 1:11, speaks of this inheritance in the past tense, highlighting its certainty and our assured claim to it, despite its full glory being revealed only upon our glorification (1 John 3:2). This inheritance isn't just a future hope but a present reality, enriching our lives with spiritual blessings like peace, love, grace, wisdom, and joy. As Paul encapsulates in 1 Corinthians 3:22-23, these gifts affirm that all things are ours in Christ.
Beloved, it's easy to lose sight of these spiritual treasures in today's materialistic world, focusing instead on transient, worldly possessions. This perspective shift can rob us of the joy and anticipation of our eternal inheritance. Let us, therefore, anchor our hearts in the promise of this heavenly legacy, allowing it to shape our values and actions and lead us into a deeper relationship with God.
"Let Us Go into The Throne Room of Grace and Mercy:"
Heavenly Father, as we reflect on the glorious inheritance You've prepared for us, we are filled with awe and gratitude. Help us to cherish and utilize the spiritual blessings You've bestowed upon us in the present as we eagerly await the fullness of Your promises. May our hearts remain fixed on Your eternal kingdom, guiding our steps and decisions. To God Be The Glory.
