"Embracing God's Provision"

5/3/2023

Bishop, W. F. Houston, Jr

Our life journey, filled with its ebb and flow, often leaves us doubting our self-worth and forgetting the abundance of God's love for us. It's easy to get lost in worry, asking questions like "What will we eat?", "What will we drink?" or "What will we wear?" But let's pause for a moment, stepping back from these concerns, and let the words of Matthew 6:26 sink into our hearts.

God invites us to Take a moment to observe the birds in the sky. Notice that they do not engage in planting or harvesting. They have no storehouses or barns, yet God feeds them. Are you less valuable than they are? This message is a potent reminder that God, who cares for the tiniest sparrow, indeed cherishes and provides for us, His children, even more abundantly.

We can easily forget this divine provision in our daily hustle and stress. Yet, every sunrise, breath, and meal we eat is a testament to God's continual care and provision. We are more valuable in His sight than we can comprehend. It's a comforting thought and a poignant reminder that worldly achievements do not determine our worth but by the love of our Heavenly Father.

Let Us Go To The Throne Room of Grace and Mercy.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the reminder of your abundant provision and love. As we step into today, please help us to remember that we are much more valuable than we often realize. Help us not to worry about tomorrow but to trust in Your divine provision.

Father, when we are tempted to doubt our worth or Your care for us, guide our eyes to the birds of the sky and remind us of Your love. When anxieties come, let us find comfort in knowing that we are worth more than many sparrows in Your sight. Help us to live in the peace of Your provision, and let this truth encourage and uplift us throughout the day.

In Jesus' name, we pray. To God Be the Glory!

Bishop Houston's Closing Thoughts:

As you go about your day, reflect on the vastness of God's provision and the immeasurable value He places on you. When worries surface, picture the birds flying freely in the sky, provided for by our Heavenly Father, and remember His promise to take care of you. You are loved. You are valuable. You are provided for. Carry these truths in your heart and share this peace with those you encounter today. May your trust in God's provision lead to a more profound sense of peace and fulfillment.

God Bless.
